Books and magazines are on sale, too!

Though we are now open only by appointment, we are delighted to continue a longstanding tradition – July is our Annual Inventory Sale month!

From July 1st to the 31st, everything in the shop is discounted by 15%. In an earlier post, I highlighted some popular yarn and pattern pairings, but today, let’s look at one of our other best sellers: books and magazines!

Make an appointment to shop our sale during July, or order online for local pickup or shipping!

Just a reminder–all sales are final on discounted items; there can be no exchanges, returns, or special orders. Thanks!

Making No. 5: Color.

Happy to announce that the latest issue of Making is in!

You might have already seen word of this on our Instagram, a post that caused our first shipment of Making to sell out in a single weekend. I’m pleased to have a fresh stack of them on our teacart now; let’s take a look inside No. 5.

This issue is all about color, and features projects for makers of all kinds – knitters and crocheters, quilters and sewists, dyers and weavers, embroiderers and rug hookers, bookmakers and more.

Beautifully photographed and lovingly produced, Making is a treat of a publication.

Look for it on the teacart here at the shop, surrounded by the best in new books and magazines for makers like us. See you there!

Making No. 4: Lines.

Happy to announce that the latest issue of Making is in!

Let’s take a look inside No. 3, whose theme is lines.

Making is a bi-annual magazine for knitters and crocheters, yes, but also for embroiderers, sewists, bakers, felters, dyers, quilters – all manner of makers.

I spotted a couple of familiar yarns put to use in the Knitting category – a low-contrast 2-color shawl in Brooklyn Tweed Loft, and a highly textured pair of socks in CoopKnits Socks Yeah!

Beautifully photographed and lovingly produced, Making is a treat of a publication.

Making No. 3: Dots.

Happy to announce that the latest issue of Making is in! Let’s take a look inside No. 3, whose theme is dots.

Making is a bi-annual magazine for knitters and crocheters, yes, but also for embroiderers, sewists, bakers, felters, dyers, quilters – all manner of makers.

Since yarn is our focus here at the shop, I’ll come right out and say that the showstopper of this issue for me is Norah Gaughan’s contribution, a breathtaking cabled shrug knit in Brooklyn Tweed Arbor.

Besides that, there are plenty of other inspiring designs in this issue of Making, from garments to accessories to home goods.
