Colorwork: “Rosie Sweater,” by Lene Holme Samsøe
Instructor: Nancy Cavender
Saturdays: Nov. 22 & Dec. 13, 2025, Jan. 10 & Feb. 7, 2026; 11 am - 1 pm
This class is for knitters with a bit of colorwork experience looking to hone their skills and take on a larger project. Nancy will guide you through the lovely "Rosie Sweater," by Lene Holme Samsøe. This top-down seamless pullover features a mock turtleneck, large scale floral motif, and a mix of drop shoulder and raglan shaping at the yoke. Nancy will teach German short rows that make the slanted European shoulder construction, share tips for catching floats, and demonstrate the Italian tubular bind-off for a tidy finish. Knit with a soft and cozy combination of fingering weight wool and lace weight mohair, "Rosie Sweater" will be a pleasure to wear as well as to knit.
Experience: Students should have some experience with stranded colorwork, and be comfortable working in the round and making basic increase/decrease stitches. Experience with sweater knitting will be helpful, but isn't required.
